Joseph Timberlake, Sr., who died in 1719 in Middlesex County, Virginia. His son, Joseph, Jr., was born in 1719; he married Elizabeth Dixon. This couple had at least the following chilldren: John Timberlake, Lewis Timberlake, William Timberlake, Joseph Timberlake III, and an unnamed female. All of this is, I take it, well established by reputable sources such as the early Middlesex County records and David W.C. Bearr's article, "The Timberlakes: Shaping Fluvanna," in The Bulletin of the Fluvanna County Historical Society (1978), Number 26-27. We also have "Timberlake Genealogy," compiled by Mary Adeline ("Addie") (Timberlake) McCall in 1936, which has been reproduced by Clarice (Jones) Foster in her book, Look Where the Sun Is--Timberlake Reflections (Columbia, South Carolina: The R.L. Bryant Company (1985), pp. 16-23, even though this latter source must be treated with great caution.
