"Sacred to the memory of Ellen Nancy Balne who departed this life on 3 Dec 1899 aged 69 years; a good wife and devoted mother; her end was peace."

According to Hazel Hoy (b. Parlabean), Ellen was killed in a car accident on her way to see her daughter Bertha, and died in hospital alone.

Death certificate signed by daughter E.S. Morom. Note at back of death notice: Shortly before his death the late William Balne handed to me a copy of a joint will dated 17 Sept 1863 executed before the notary Cornelius Johannes Buissonne by Willliam Balne and Ellen Mary Jobson, which copy has been lodged with the Matter of the Supreme Court.
