 DAILY SENTINEL, ROME, N. Y., TUESDAY EVENING, JULY 3, 1945  Vienna MRS. ELMER ROYCE DIES IN HOSPITAL 

Vienna, July 3—Mrs. Elmer H. Royce, native of Utica, a resident of Vienna, died Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Utica, daughter of John and the late Maria Stuart Barnes. Her maiden name was Ellen Barnes and she was married to Elmer H. Royce in Utica. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Utica; North Bay Rebekah Lodge, the Methodist Ladies Aid Society of Vienna and the Vienna Birthday Club. Besides her husband she is survived by her father, John Barnes, Utica; two daughters, Marie and Alice Royce, Vienna; three sons, Elmer H. jr.; Cpl. John R. Royce,USA, Okinawa; Pvt. Donald S. Royce, U. S. Army in Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Gerling and Mrs. John Barr, Utica; four brothers, Herbert, Valligo, Calif.; John and Richard, Utica, and Pvt. Robert Barnes, U.S. Army in New Guinea; an aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Hart, Utica, and four grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Thursday at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Barr, 405 Larchmont St. Interment Will be in New Forest Cemetery.

Married at age 16.
