About Elleyn Genevieve Riley
Bill Riley was raised in Michigan and came West at an early age. He farmed in Montana before coming to Spokane, Washington where he worked as a butcher at Armour and Carsons Meat Company. He met and married Elleyn Rice on June 6th 1912 in Couer d' Alene, Idaho. They lived in Midway, B.C. ( Canada ) and later in Pentiction, B.C. ( Canada ).
They had 12 children ( 6 sons and 6 daughters ) and each and everyone of them where very talented. They sang, yodeled, played musical instruments, played sports and were artistic. Bill was fore many years a fruit farmer, but his real love was hunting. He could out shoot anyone at a Target Shooting Contest. Elleyn enjoyed singing and raising their children. Many wonderful memories spent at their home will be remembered by all. The sing alongs, games played and story telling that scared everyone to death.
