Elmer "Doc" Patterson, age 77, passed away on Nov. 9, 2001. He was survived by his wife of almost 61 yrs., Merle Jeanette Gregory Patterson, whom he married on November 19, 1940, 2 daughters, Rebecca Lee (James Israel) Cartwright and Betty Mae Thomas, 3 sons, Dwane "Ed" Edwin (Verna) Patterson, William Oren (Carolyn) Patterson and James Evert (Connie) Patterson, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Roselene (Arthur) Warthman and Phyllis (Joe) Gibson, two brothers, Lowell Patterson and William (Donna) Patterson and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter, Susan Deanne Patterson in 1947. Funeral services were on Monday, Nov. 12, 2001 at 2:30 P.M. at the Garrett Funeral Home with the Rev. James McFadden officiating. Interment was in the Bell Cemetery.
