ELMER HENDRICKSON
VERONA -- Elmer Hendrickson, 81, of the Green-Way Verona Mills Rd., a carpenter, farmer and blacksmith for many years in the Rome and Verona area, died March 22 in the Norwalk Conn. Hospital He was admitted to the hospital while on a visit to a daughter, Mrs. Arthur W. (Jane) Sibelius, Darian, Conn.
Mr. Hendrickson was born in Finland, He came to the United States as a young man and first resided in New Jersey before coming to Rome to take part in the construction of the Lake Delta Dam. He was twice married. He married Lena Maude Hurlbut in 1910 in Rome. She died in 1919. He married Amanda Gustafson in 1923 in Rome. She died in 1964
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rome. Besides Mrs. Sibelius, he leaves other two daughters, Mrs. Robert L. (Lucy) Bauer, Leonardsville, and Mrs. Roy W. (Ellen) Hawkins Sr., Northwestern; a step-daughter, Mrs. George F. (Margaret) Bowers Sr., Rome, and three brothers, Werner, Florida; Frank, Bronx, and Emil, Finland.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday from the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home, Rome. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Churchville, Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow at the funeral home.
