Elphege Augustine Daigle, 94 years old of Ponchatoula, died June 18, 2010, in Regency Hospital of Covington.

He was born on April 23, 1916, in Belle Rose, son of the late Edgar Daigle and the late Florence LeBlanc Daigle.

Mr. Daigle served in the United Sates Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Ponchatoula. Mr. Daigle was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula.

Surviving are his daughter & son-in-law, Sandra and Charles Wooten; 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Edgar and Kay Daigle, Ernest and Betty Daigle, Clayton and Bonnie Daigle; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Perkins; and brother, Odon Daigle.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Bergeron Daigle; 2 sisters, Odette Braud and Rita Daigle; and brother, Euzelien Daigle.

Friends will be received Monday, June 21, 2010, from 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula.

Interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery.
