Redbridge Hill in the 1947 Electoral Register, and interestingly, this names 5 residents at the address: Charles W Cole, Elsie Cole, George Cole, Percy C Cole and Frederick J Mason. By the 1948 Register, both Charles W Cole and Elsie Cole have left this address, though George Cole, Percy C Cole and Frederick J Mason are still listed at 76 Redbridge Hill. I checked Mayfield House in the Woolston ward in the 1948 Register: there were about 30 people listed at Mayfield House but nobody named Cole. However, when I checked the 1949 Electoral Register (qualifying date 10 June 1949) both Charles W Cole and Elsie Cole were listed at Mayfield House. Joanne Smith

The 1950 Register (qualifying date Nov 1949) has Elsie Cole still at Mayfield House, but no Charles W Cole by this stage. By 1951 she is no longer at Mayfield House. I wasn’t able to find West End Place in the Southampton electoral registers, but in 1956 I found her again, listed at 4 Shales Cottages, West End Road. She is the only person listed at this address. She isn’t there in the 1955 register. I went back earlier to 1946, to see if Charles and Elsie are at the Redbridge Hill address in this, but they aren’t.
