ROPP, Emerson Emerson Ropp, 86, of Tavistock passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. He was born in East Zorra Township on March 19, 1931 a son of the late Michael and Barbara (Zehr) Ropp. He had resided and farmed on the 15th line of East Zorra until moving to Tavistock in 1993; was an active member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line and the North Easthope Tractor Club. Emerson married the former Edna Poole on June 15, 1955. She predeceased him on January 10, 2012. He is survived by his two children, Gloria and husband Mervin Ropp of Tavistock, Dale and wife Sara Ropp of R.R. 1, Tavistock; six grandchildren Janna Lynn and husband Christopher Cressman, Ryan and wife Nicole Ropp, Nicole Ropp, Michael Ropp, Ashley Ropp, and Thomas Ropp; five great-grand- children, Naomi, Ava and Gibson Ropp; Briella and Broden Cressman; two sisters, Hilda Kropf and Mary Ropp, both of Tavistock; his sister-in-law, Mary E. Ropp of New Hamburg; "Poole" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clarence Poole of Brunner, Eileen and Robert Eickmeyer of R.R. 2, Mitchell; Magdalena Poole of Wellesley, Wayne and Dorothy Lichti of Elmira; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by brothers, Henry Ropp, Stanley and his first wife Leona Ropp; his brother-in-law, Floyd Kropf and "Poole" brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ivan Poole, Lloyd Poole and Violet Lichti. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Ray Martin will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line.
