She had lived a Christian since early girlhood, being a member of Smyrna Baptist church. She withdrew from there to New Hope where she remained until death. She leaves four girls to mourn her death. Mesdames Mary Davis, Ester McCain, Blanche Powell and Rosa Wood, one sister, Harriett Breeland, 35 grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near her old home. The funeral was conducted by Rev. T.B. Fortenberry.
"Blessed sleep where no one ever wakes to weep" We love her, yes we love her more, and they have sweetly called her to yonder shinning shore. The beautiful portals opened a gentle voice said "come" and with farewells unspoken she calmly entered home. Her loving voice is hushed. Her gentle form is stilled. A place is vacant in our home that can never be filled.
