Around 1897, she began working at the Gospel Tabernacle with Albert Simpson, who established the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
In 1899, opened the Eighth Avenue Mission, NYC.
In 1902, married Harold Stephens. 9 years his senior,whon she met at NY Tabernacle.
In 1903, she produced one of her several gospel songs, called Never Thirst Again.
