Mrs. Emily Root is # 918 on the 1907 Wooster Roll where she is identified as the daughter of Peter Keeshig and Mrs. Eliza Keeshig #936. Emily's traditional name is recorded as "Kabianokwe" meaning "Southwest wind" but that name, its context and meaning require scrutiny and comment by those with expertise in the nuances of the Anishinaabemowin language and Potawatomi culture.
In 1907 when Mrs. Emily Root was age 29 she was living at Saugeen Reservation, Ontario where she held full rights in Canada.
