About Emma Mae Harris

Obituary
Mrs. Emma Mae Harris, age 79. formerly of 12 Chateau Drive, died Friday morning at a local health care center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Harris was born April 25, 1921, in Aragon, daughter of the late Wade and Annie Williams Yarborough. She spent most of her adult life in the Atlanta area and was a longtime resident of the Allendale community. She was a Member Emeritus of the Order of the Eastern Star and was the Past Worthy Matron of the OES Chapter 290 in Forest Park. Mrs. Harris returned to Rome in 1998 and was a member of the Liberty View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. R. Harris on May 4, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion McGuire of Centre, Ala. and Genice Hatle of Belleview, Fla.; a sister, Opal Rittenhouse; a brother, Leon Yarborough; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
