Emma Roberts Weidman

Mrs. Emma R. Weidman, widow of the late Captain John Weidman, died at 1:30 o’clock this morning at her home, 916 Cumberland street, aged 82 years. Deceased had suffered from dropsy some time, but yesterday afternoon grew worse from the effects of a sudden congestive chill, which caused her death. She was well known in this city for many years, and connected with several of the best families of this section and New Jersey. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Grant, of Melrosa, N. J., and her husband Captain John Weidman, was the eldest son of Jacob B. Weidman. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church. These children survive: Mrs. Richard Halter, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Cyrus G. Derr, Mrs. Henry Zimmerman, Reading; Mrs. George W. Klein, Mrs. Bessie Hall, Lebanon. The late Major Grant Weidman of this city, and the late Lieut. Commander John Weidman, U.S.N., were also sons of the deceased.
