ENGBERT NICHOLAS VELD DEMOTTE, IN/ FORMERLY OF SOUTH HOLLAND, IL Engbert Veld, age 90, of DeMotte, IN formerly of South Holland, IL passed away on January 1, 2009 at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte, IN. He was born on July 18, 1918 in South Holland, IL to Gertrude (Van De Berg) and Nicholas Veld, both deceased. Engbert attended Phoenix, IL public schools and was a retired farmer. On August 31, 1944 he married Lucille Vlietstra, who passed away November 27, 1997. He was a member of American Reformed Church, DeMotte, IN. Engbert is survived by his loving children: Judith (Allen) VanderZee, St. John, IN, Robert (Joan) Veld and Don (Karlene) Veld, both of Wayland, MI; seven grandchildren: Jack (Jan) Vander Zee, Sherry (Dan) DeBoer, Bob (Richelle) VanderZee, Tina (Brian) Klingenberg, Rob (Rachael) Veld, Tom Veld and Donavan Veld; 14 Great -grandchildren; brother, Bernard (Evelyn) Veld, DeMotte, IN. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille; two brothers and one sister. Friends may call on Sunday January 4, 2009 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. SW, DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at The American Reformed Church, 1021 S. Halleck, DeMotte, IN with Pastor Lary Sakel officiating.
