About Ennis Foster Howe, Jr.

Was a traveling salesman for Koneg Tea and Tobacco Co. Travelled the route through Elizaville, KY where he regularly stayed at "The Stewart House", a large white house on the crossroads. The Stewarts took in boarders, and frequently had "drummers" as overnight guests. Mr. Howe fell in love with the youngest daughter, Sallie. After they married he went to south Florida where he bought land in a swamp that is now the city of Fort Lauderdale. For many years he ran Howe's Deli in Fort Lauderdale. The family traveled back to Elizaville, Ky for the hot summer months. Ennis, Jr. attended Military School at Millersburg Military Institute, close to Elizaville, in Kentucky. He later attended Washington and Lee.
