A Patriot of the American Revolution for MASSACHUSETTS with the rank of SERGEANT. DAR Ancestor # A109462
(Springfield Massachusetts)In 1771 the possessions of ENOS STEBBINS consisted of the following: one dwelling house and real estate valued at six pounds, one horse, two oxen, eight cows, six goats and sheep, three swine, two acres of pasture, and five acres of tillage. The grain, etc., raised yearly amounted to fifty bushels; and there were twelve acres of fresh meadow.
His name appears on the "Non-Consumption Pledge" in 1774. [A record of residents/colonies.]
He was a Soldier, and marched on the occasion of the Lexington Alarm Mass. April, 1775, as will be seen by the following: "Dec. 5th 1775. A Roll of p. 233. Capt. James Warriner's Company of Wilbraham who marched in defense of American Liberty on ye Alarm last April occasioned by the Lexington Fight with ye number of officers & soldiers, time of service distance from home what due to each according to his character agreeable to a late Resolve of the great and Gen '11 court of this Colony.
