Also served as Pvt in the Florida War with the Seminole Indians, Capt Benj, Martin's Co. Married to Abashaba Beersheba Hodges, born 1801 died 1857. 7 children: Hezekiah born 1822, James 1827, Lewis 1828, John 1833, Sarah 1835, Elizabeth 1837 and Caroline 1841. Moved from Limestone Co, Al to Union Co, Il abt 1830 where he received a government land grant for his military service. NOTE: The G was dropped from the surname when his father William moved to Columbia Co,Ga and became Hardin. Not sure of the reason.
