GREENVILLE Ermon C. McClellan, 88, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville following a brief illness. Born in Muhlenberg County March 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late James R. Rice and Maude Mae Wells Rice. She was a homemaker and retired in 1976 after 30 years as a factory worker. She was a member of Lone Star General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard McClellan in 2000, and a sister, Helen Saddler. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Bill) Peveler of Greenville; two grandsons, Todd (Marilyn) Peveler of Powderly and Scott (LaDonna) Peveler of Greenville; three great-grandsons, Derek (Beth) Peveler, Dustin Peveler and Alex Peveler; a great-great-grandson, Landon Peveler; and a sister, Mildred Sweeney of Greenville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 16 at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. Tony Shanks and Danny Mooneyhan officiating. Burial followed in Bivins Cemetery in Weir.
