died aged 75 at his home on Purinton Rd, in Buckland; born in Plainfield the son of Frederick and Anna (Jones) Rice; lived many years in Plainfield; retiring from farming 1961; lived five years in South Ashfield and made his home for the past 2-1/2 years in Buckland; was a 50-year member of the Plainfield Grange; survived by his widow Bessie Thatcher, a daughter Mrs Ernest Taylor of Ashfield, four sons Milton E and Frederick W both of Ashfield, Kenneth N of Buckland and Wesley of Springfield, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a brother Ralph W of Plainfield, several nieces and nephews; services at Plainfield Congregational church, burial at Hilltop cemetery [published in the Greenfield Recorder/Gazette]
