Ernest Henry Blandford Stubbs (1915 - 1999)

Ernest (84), and his wife Helen, were attacked on their Farm Clearwater, Haenertsburg in Limpopo on 12th September 1999. Ernest was shot dead. Helen survived the attack, she was tied up and locked in a cupboard.
"Police spokesperson Superintendent Phuti Setati said Ernest was killed by two balaclava-clad men who entered his home at 8.30am, while he was eating breakfast with his wife, Helen. Setati said Mrs Stubbs noticed two men standing at their kitchen door and when she asked about the purpose of their visit, they pushed her inside and gagged her. Mr Stubbs tried to intervene - but the robbers shot him at point blank range. The men stole a firearm, jewellery, car keys, and some food from the refrigerator and ran away."
