About Ernestine Ritter

Ernestine Marcum Ritter, 88, of Richmond, passed away, Tuesday July 9, 2013, at Telford Terrace.

She was born September 26, 1924, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Fairis and Pearl Lain Marcum, both of whom preceded her in death, and she was the widow of William Kenneth Ritter.

Mrs. Ritter was a bank officer and secretary at Madison National Bank for over 30 years and was a retired real estate broker. She was one of the founders of the Madison County Realtors Association, having her real estate license since 1956, and she was a Past President of that Association. Mrs. Ritter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond.

Survivors include her son, Ken Ritter, of Richmond; two granddaughters, Kendra Michelle Ritter and Kristina Marie Ritter; three nephews, David L. Williams (wife, Harriette and children, David Matthew Williams and Elizabeth Morgan Williams), Fairis M. Williams (wife, Paula and daughter, Jennifer Liegh Woods), and Sammy Lane Williams (and his children, Tonya Stevens and Timothy L. Williams).

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Kay Ritter, one son, William Tony Ritter, one sister, Ruby Marcum Williams, and one brother, Wallace C. Marcum.

Funeral service for Mrs. Ritter will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Honorary bearers will be Timothy Williams, David Matthew Williams, Jake Hietzmonn, Kenny Marcum and Nick Stevens.
