Eintrag im »Gedenkbuch« des Bundesarchivs:
Ernst Goldmann along with two others - Rudolf Benario and Arthur Kahn - are considered to be the very first Jews murdered by the Nazi regime in a concentration camp. Benario was arrested by the SA on March 10, just weeks after the Nazi ascension to power on January 30, 1933. On April 11, 1933, he was transferred to Dachau. The next day, Benario, together with Ernst Goldman, Arthur Kahn and Erwin Kahn were "beaten with a horsewhip until they collapsed and bled from the mouth, nose and other body parts." Later they were walked out to the woods outside Dachau and shot by SS men. Benario, Goldmann and Arthur Kahn died instantly, Erwin Kahn a few days later.
