Esther Rouchou

Ester was the cousin of the Baron de Menasce who was a banker from Cairo and a very benevolent person who made many donations to the Jewish community. He received the permanent nobilty title of baron from the emperor Franz Joseph who visited Egypt at the inauguration of the Suez canal. Until today there is a street in Alexandria under his name (Menasce street in the Moherem bey quarter).

The baron and his descendents are burried at the Chatby 2 cemetry in royal tombs.
