Esther Snow

Biography

Esther Converse was born in Woburn, Massachusetts, on October 1, 1704, the daughter of Capt. Robert and Mary (Sawyer) Converse.[1][2]

She married as his first wife, Isaac Snow, son of Timothy and Lydia (Pierce) Snow, on July 18, 1732, at Woburn. Children, all born in Woburn:[1][3]

Esther Snow, born May 19, 1733; died September 9, 1733, aged 3 months.[4][5]
Esther Snow, 2nd, born June 30, 1734; died April 13, 1739, aged 4.[6][7]
Ruth Snow, born October 21, 1735.[8]
Anne Snow, born March 17, 1737; died March 22?, 1737, aged about 5 days.[9][10]
Esther (Converse) Snow died in Woburn on March 30, 1737, "in her 33rd year."[11] She died about 2 weeks after the birth of her youngest child, who also died, possibly due to complications from childbirth. After her death Isaac married Phebe Richardson in 1738.[12] Esther was buried at the First Burial Ground in Woburn, where her gravestone is documented to have read:[1]
