On April 5, 2008 Mrs. Eunice Vera
Rosteski of Swan River and formerly of
Lenswood passed away at the age of 80
years. Eunice was born February 3, 1928 in
Bowsman, Manitoba to Les and Lily
Stephen, the seventh of eight children. She
attended Brierley School. She married Frank
Rosteski on November 13, 1946 and they had
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sis-
ter, aunt, daughter, farmer and a great friend
to many. She loved to sew, play music, sing,
dance, garden, do a variety of crafts, travel, entertain and will be certain-
ly remembered for her generosity and humor.
She was an active member in the community and church. She was a
member of the Lenswood Community Club, Women's Institute, National
Farmers Union, the New Democratic Party, Birch River and Swan River
Seniors, the United Church, and the Golden Agers choir.
She still enjoyed square dancing and many other physical activities,
with floor curling taking her to the MSOS games for the past couple of
years. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Eunice is survived by two sons and three daughters, Les (Louise) of
Swan River, Sharon (Ken) of Rapid City, Manitoba, Morley (Jo-Ann) of
Aidrie, Alberta, Denise (Mike) of Minnedosa, Manitoba and Rhonda
(Brian) of Flin Flon, Manitoba, along with twelve grandchildren and one
great-grandchild; one sister Isabelle (Bill) Davy of Birch River, Manitoba
and one brother Bert of New Zealand as well as many in-laws. She was
predeceased by her husband Frank in August of 2006, daughter-in-law
Cheryle in March of 2005, and siblings Bill, Buster, Norris, Jack and June.
Following cremation a memorial service was held from the Swan
Valley Museum in Swan River, Manitoba on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at
2:00 p.m. with Reverend Kathy Highmoor officiating. Following the
service Inurnment took place in the family plot at the Birchwood
Cemetery in Swan River, Manitoba.
The urnbearer was Morley Rosteski, and everyone in attendance at the
service were considered honourary pallbearers.
