The person who gave the couple the family bible? She may have been embarassed about the 8 year difference in ages and increased her own age from 19 or 20 to 22.
BIOGRAPHY: It looks like the Murray family bible currently held by Bill Leask (b1946) was started by George Murray and Euphemia. On the 1881 census it shows Euphemia, 29 years of age, and her husband George Murray staying at 180 Mathieson Street, Hutchesontown, Govan, Glasgow [Scottish GRO ref: 644/11 041/11 025] with their children Jessie (Janet) and Margaret. Her age according to her marriage record should be 32 but she has stated 29 on the census.At the birth of George Faribairn Murray, 1881, the family are living at 5 Tarbet Street, Glasgow.
DEATH: The Murray Family Bible first entry 1871 shows the date of passing for Euphemia as 3/7/1898. Confirmed by [Scottish GRO ref: 626/A2 0058], which shows Euphemia dies of bronchitis and other maladies which are hard to read, at the age of 47.
