About Eva Stolpa

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=130038117 (this findagrave entry incorrectly states Eva Sztolpa (1821-1895) as the spouse of Franciszek Sztolpa (1856 - 1909) - Franciszek is Eva's son - the findagrave page Franciszek "Frank" Sztolpa (1856-1909) also incorrectly states they are spouses, but also has a note that Franciszek, is the son of Michael and Eva (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=130038135).

The Eva Stolpa who died of influenza in 1917 [this comment is likely referring to Eva Stolpa (1899-1918), daughter of Bernard Stolpa & Victoria Gostomczyk) - the first wife of Michael & mother of his children baptized in Poland, was Eva Scharmach-Stolpa (c.1821-1895)] was eighteen at the time of her death. The 1900 US Census shows Michael (74) and Apalonia (68) Stolpa living at 711 East Second Street in Winona. Michael's 1907 obituary does not mention him being survived by a wife.

I have not found the marriage record of Michael Stolpa & Apolonia, who was more than 10 years younger than his first wife Eva, according to several census records.

Wisconsin Marriages, pre-1907 shows Michael & Apolonia married May 4, 1896 in Trempealeau, WI.

Eva Stolpa who died in 1918 is the sister of Bernard Stolpa, daughter of Bernard T Stolpa and Helen Ertmanczyk.
