Evan Richard Lloyd

Evan Richard Lloyd is the third child of John and Laura Lloyd. He was born in Potrmadoc in January 1851. In the 1851 census he is 4 months old and Elizabeth is 3 and John is 2., His father John Lloyd is a cabinet maker. Jane Smith , a servant also lives in the house which is 52 Snowden Terrace , Ynyscynhaiarn a village of Portmadoc. By 1861 Evan is 19 and there are 5 more children.. Margaret 8, Sarah 7, William 6, Richard, 4 and Winifred 1. They now live in 25 Well Street Llandysilio Anglesey. It is now called Menai Bridge. Laura is 38 and has 8 children under the age of 13. No record of Evan Richard Lloyd in 1871 census. By 1881 he is married to Maria Lloyd (Thomas) and was married in April 1873. They have three children, Hugh 6, John 4 and a nine month old boy called Richard. Evan Richard Lloyd works for the local board as a Carter in Festiniog and his address is the High Street. The 1891 census puts his birth place as Beddgelert which is incorrect. He is now 40 and Maria is 35 and they have four more children Evan, Ellen, Robert and William. By the 1901 census Hugh and John have left home and they have another son called David who is 8. They are still living in Festiniog Hendu and he is now a labourer in the Slate Quarry. Once again the birthplace is Beddgelert.
