About Everard Bolton
Came from Ross in Herefordshire, England in 1682, "and settled near Milestown, on the York Road, in Cheltenham Township, now Montgomery County, about one mile east of the city line. Everard Bolton was a prominent man in the community, filling the office of Justice of the Peace for many years, and was treasurer of Abington Monthly Meeting for a period of forty years.
The ancestry of the Boltons or Bodeltons is traced back to the Lord of Bolton, the lineal representative of the Saxon Earl of Murcia, who was living A.D. 1135."
