About Everett Gale Fulcher

"E. Gale Fulcher 1928 - 2015 The community of Meridian, Idaho has lost one of its' pioneers. E. Gale Fulcher was born August 28, 1928 in Boise, Idaho. He grew up on the Meridian farm his grandfather acquired in 1919, and lived his entire life there…with farming as his life's work. He attended Hillsdale Elementary, then graduated from Meridian High School in 1946. Gale married Barbara J. Leighton in 1949, a union that lasted for the next 66 years and produced three children: Marilyn Fulcher-Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida, Scott Fulcher of Caldwell, Idaho, and Russ Fulcher of Meridian, Idaho. Gale leaves behind his wife, Barbara; his three children; and sisters, Bette-Ann Aschenbrenner of Meridian and Alice Anderson of Twin Falls. Gale lived the dynamic life of a dairy farmer in Idaho's Treasure Valley during the late 1900's… a time of unprecedented change. With a dedicated wife by his side, his life was characterized by hard work, honesty, and faithfulness – all of which he made sure passed on to his children. Gale's livelihood came from the dairy, but his love was his farm. After graduating high school, Gale achieved a Master's degree from the "University of Hard Knocks," while minoring in agronomy, mechanics, engineering, medicine, construction, accounting, meteorology, and business management. Gale was a farmer. Gale valued a good car, good machinery, and prided in their up-keep. His personal indulgences were few with the exception of his toy tractor collection, for which he knew in minute detail. Hundreds in number, the collection is coveted nation-wide and (to the chagrin of his wife), monopolizes nearly every square inch of the family home. Although his roots were deeply planted in Meridian, he expanded his horizons by traveling nationwide and to Europe. But then there is Gale Fulcher's legacy. His ambassadors to the future are his wife, three children, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Those ambassadors contribute positively to society through their professions - to name a few: A music instructor, an investor, a trucking company founder, a senator, a financier, a missionary, an attorney, an engineer, a school teacher, two social media marketers, students… and at the pinnacle of them all… several stay-at-home moms charged with the responsibility of developing the next generation. In closing, the Fulcher family extends thanks to Alpine Meadows Assisted Living Center of Meridian, and Legacy Hospice for their thoughtful care during a difficult time. Memorial Services will be held at Ten Mile Community Church at 4440 E. Columbia Rd., Meridian (of which Gale was a charter member) on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 2:00pm.
