Early life and education
Stang was born in Oslo. He is the son of Norwegian actress Wenche Foss[2] and entrepreneur Thomas Stang.

Career
Stang was first elected Mayor of Oslo in 2007, and reelected in 2011.[3]

In 2012 Stang spoke out in favour of increased immigration.[4]

Stang is a supporter of subsidies and perks for electric cars in the city.[5][6]

In 2015 Stang lost the mayoral election to Socialist Marianne Borgen.[1][7]

Fabian Stang (født 19. august 1955) er en norsk advokat og politiker (H). Han har vært Oslos ordfører siden 2007.

Stang er utdannet jurist. Av yrke var han først lærer, deretter advokatfullmektig, politifullmektig og fra 1986 advokat.

Stang har vært bystyrerepresentant for Høyre siden 1999 og vært fast medlem av helse- og sosialkomiteen, samferdsels- og miljøkomiteen, byutviklingskomiteen og finanskomiteen.

Som ordfører i Oslo er Stang også leder av Oslo bystyres forretningsutvalg, valgstyre og samevalgstyret i Oslo.

Stang var Oslos varaordfører fra 29. august 2007 og ble 17. oktober samme år byens ordfører.

I 2011 deltok han i Kjendisbarnevakten på NRK 1.

Stang mottok i 2011 kommandørkorset av Litauens fortjenstorden i forbindelse med statsbesøk fra Litauens president.

Familie

Fabian Stang er sønn av Thomas Stang og skuespiller Wenche Foss. Gjennom farmoren Emma Heiberg er han etterkommer av Axel Heiberg, Thorvald Meyer, Jacob Peter Meyer, Andreas Tofte og Jacob Munch, og på farfarens side er han etterkommer av Mads Wiel og Johan Michael Keyser.
