Fannie Lou (Wood) Milam, age 89, of Eastpointe, Mich., died Thursday, May 6, 2010. She was born on April 7, 1921, in Jonesboro, the ninth of 12 children born to Starling Witt and Hazel Wood. She moved in 1948 to Michigan, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was an active member of the Bethany Christian Church in Detroit and had a special relationship with the Highland Drive Christian Church in Jonesboro. She was known for her kindness to others, never expecting anything in return. She was a wonderful cook, who canned vegetables from her husband's garden. Friends often commented that she could "make Thanksgiving dinner on the Fourth of July with very little notice and never have to leave her house to do it."
