DIED. GIBBONS.--In Ogden City, Dec. 31st, of old age, Fanny R. Gibbons, aged 83 years and 6 days. Funeral on Thursday, Jan. 3rd. at the mortuary residence, on Eighth Street, between Smith and Spring, immediately after Fast meeting. Friends invited. FANNY R. GIBBONS. This estimable lady died in Ogden City, on the 31st of December, 1883. She was born, on the 26th of December, 1800, in Chievly, Berkshire, England, and was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, in December, 1845. After a stay of nine years in her native land, she immigrated to Utah, in 1854 settling in Ogden City. She a numerous posterity, being the mother of 17 children--14 boy and three girls. She had 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the residence, on 8th Street, on Thursday, January 3d, 1884, and were presided over by Bishop B. C. Critchlow, Elder T. Morley offered prayer and remarks suitable for the occasion were made by Elders Moroni F. Brown, Fred Garner, and Bishop Critchlow. The speaker dwelt upon the exemplary life and character of the deceased, who, indeed, is well worthy the rest she has obtained in the glory of the God she so faithfully served. Through darkening trials as well as in the sunlight of life she ever looked to God for consolation, and now that the shining portals have been opened to her, she will receive the reward of her merits, and find a resting place with the chosen Saints of God. The closing prayer was offered by Elder W. R. R. Stowell. Elder Francis Gibbons, now on a mission, is a son of the deceased.
