Funeral services for Mrs. Fatima Jane Berry, county pioneer and widow of the late George W. Berry, were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Texhoma with Rev. G. C. Riggs officiating. Burial was in te Texhoma Cemetery under the direction of the Dawson Funeral Home/ Mrs. Berry died Monday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Leila Gist and Hoyt Gist of Texhoma. Besides the Gists she is survived by her sons, Grady, Bedford, Olive, and Gus, all of Texhoma, Arnold of Fresno, Calif., and daughters, Mrs. Annie Coate of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Gaitha Needham of Alva, Mrs. Ola Mae Freeman of Dalhart, tex., Mrs. Hazel Roberts of Keyes: three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Arnold, of Corpus Christi, Tex., Mrs. Blain Gilmore of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Ella Brannam of Hobart, one brother Lloyd Edmonds of Waco, Tex., 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mrs. Berry was born August 6, 1873, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She was married to Mr. Berry in 1890. They filed on a claim north of Texhoma in 1905 where they lived until hid death in 1944.
