About Ferdinand Psota

Ferdinand Psota was born in Doubravčany, Bohemia on December 25, 1852. He married Marie Vyskocil sometime between 1875 and 1877. They had 2 children, Bessie and Mary while still in Bohemia. In 1880, when Bessie was 3 and Mary was 5 months old, they migrated to America on a ship called the Gellert. They arrived in New York Harbor on November 19, 1880. They traveled to Omaha where they stayed for 3 years and had 2 more daughters, Ella and Emma. They then moved to Butler County for around a year where they may have had Josephine (Josie). They then moved to Lindsay where they had the rest of their children and maybe Josephine. after living there for about nine years, the family moved to Sherman County. Ferdinand died here in late June of 1912.
