      • Belonged to the Church at Horsham, where there is referenced “a Seate under the new gallary stayers for Pharis Bushnell, the wife of Frauncis Bushnell, to belong to him and his heirs for ever.” Francis was a church warder in 1626/7 and made donations for the reparation of St. Pauls in London in 1636 and 1639.[ [663]]
      • His sons left for America in 1635. In 1639 he followed with his daughters Sarah and Rebecca on the St. John in the company of Rev. Henry Whitfield. Aboard ship, they created the “Guilford Covenant.” They landed at Fair Haven between Jul 10 and Jul 15 in 1639 and settled at Menunkatuck, which they renamed Guilford. Francis had a home lot on the corner of Fair and Broad Streets.
      • Since his wives both died before he immigrated, he must have married for a third time in the colonies. In November 1648, Thomas Jones of Guilford brought suite against “goodwife Bushnell” for injury done to his corn and hogs.[ [659]]
