Florence A. Kerr

NESS CITY — Florence A. Kerr, 82, died April 30 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. She was born July 16, 1927, at Ness City, the daughter of Alex and Odella Pfannenstiel Gabel.

Mrs. Kerr was a homemaker, a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society of Ness City and she was previously active in the local 4-H and Cancer Society of Kansas.

On April 29, 1947, she married Howard Kerr in Ness City. He survives. Other survivors include four sons, Gaylen and Debi Kerr, Ness City, Franklin and Linda Kerr, Topeka, David and Mary Kerr, St. Louis, Mo., and Richard and Dena Kerr, Platte City, Mo.; one daughter, Leigh Ann Hendrickson, WaKeeney; one brother, Harold Dean Gabel, Ness City; two sisters, Leona Dinges, Beaverton, Ore., and Kay Heizer, Wichita; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Howard Kerr, Jr., and a brother, Alex Gabel, Jr.

Mass of Christian burial was Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City, with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Rosary was Sunday at the church. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund and the Ness County Hospital.
