About Flt Lt. Stuart David Parnell

Born in Wellington, New Zealand on 8 September 1915. Stuart enlisted in the Royal New Zealand Air Force on 29 December 1939 during World War II and served as a pilot and armourer (Service No. WWII 391905). His last rank was Flight Lieutenant. He was taken prisoner-of-war in August 1942 and released in May 1945. Stuart was mentioned in Despatches (MiD) on 13 June 1946. He died on 9 August 1973 and was cremated at Purewa Cemetery on 13 August 1973 with his ashes scattered.
