Cook, Forest Parr Beckley Post-Herald 9-Jun-67 "Forest P. Cook Succumbs At 78LASHMEET -- Forest P. Cook, 78, formerly of Lashmeet, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lacy Brooks of Sabine, at 2:30 a.m. Thursday after a long illness.Born Aug. 24, 1889 at Lashmeet, he was a son of the late Rev. Boyd and Louise Thompson Cook. He was a retired employee of Crozier Coal Company at Dott. His wife, Bertha Cook, died in1959.Other survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Lerona, Joe of Princeton, and Tommy of Matheny; two other daughters, Mrs. Ilene Brown and Mrs. Imogene Shumate, both of Glen Fork; two brothers, Ted of Princeton and Wayne of Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Lyons of MacArthur; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Princeton with Rev. Dewey Wilson in charge. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery at Lashmeet.Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today."
