Odom, 83, a machine operator with Lone Star Gas, died Monday, March 20, 2000, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Stadium Dr. Baptist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Forrest E. Odom was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Haskell.

He was a Fort Worth resident for more than 50 years and a member of Stadium Drive Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing dominoes. He retired from Lone Star Gas in 1978, after 30 years of service.

Survivors: Wife of 31 years, Dell Odom of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Kellie D'Amore of Ranger; son, Michael Edwin Odom and his wife, Brenda, of Spring; grandchildren, Christopher M. Odom and his wife, Andre, of Oceanside, Calif. and April M. Odom of Spring; brother, Robert Odom of Burleson; sister, Eva Sheppard of Terrell; and two great-grandchildren.
