Foster married Laura Dewin in Manistique Mi. in 1919 they had 3 children Audrey, Glenn And Bernard. Foster was a Mason. Foster and Laura Owned a 40 acre farm in Gulliver in the upper penisula in Michigan. That had been in the family four many years. Foster Worked as a milwright for Thompson products in Detroit. He had plained to retire and build a new house in Gulliver. In them days the only way to go from one penisula to the other was by boat and could take many hours of sitting in line to board.

Then in 1954 the Mackinaw bridge started to be Built and on Nov. 1, 1957 the bridge was open.

Foster talked a lot about driving across the bridge, but died before he could, He was one of the first caskets to cross.
