Les americains livraient courament des combats aux amerindiens de la nouvelle-angleterre. Les americains massacrairent plusieurs amerindiens lors de combat a Cochoca, plusieurs furent fait prisionniers et certains furent envoyer a Boston pour etre pendus. Le 28 juin 1689 les amerindiens contre-attaquerent en attaquant les fortifications de Dover, ils mettent le feu aux batiments et tuent plusieurs personnes en plus de faire 28 prisonnier(es) dont Rose. Les amerindiens iront se cacher au Canada ou ils vendront leurs prisonniers dont Rose qui ira travailler comme esclave pour ensuite marier Jean Poitevin en 1696. Elle aura la citoyennete francaise en 1710.

Rose pris le nom francophone de Marie Francoise Hotesse, Rozetis (Rozettis) ou Otis. Hotesse, rozetis sont phonetiquement trrs pres de son nom original car les notaires du temps avaient des connaissances tres limite en anglais et ecrivaient souvent au son.

Captured by Indians and sold to the French in 1689, at 12 years.
