Fannie Keeney is described on page 496 of the above Laidley book as follows: "James Brawley married Fannie Keeney, a native of the Valley, who survived her husband dying at the age of seventy-seven years. She was of Irish parentage and a Methodist in religion. Their children were as follows:
Washington Brawley - married Catharine Ann Snyder
Henry T. (S.) Brawley - married Susan Snyder
Adeline Brawley - married Milton Snyder
Lucinda C. Brawley - married David C. Snyder
Emaline Brawley - married Daniel Booker Snyder
Jane Brawley - married James Curry (Merchant in Malden Dist.)
Aulene Samples refutes the information in the Laidley book and says that Frances Keeney married William S. Brawley on 4 June 1811 in Greenbrier County, WV. They came to Kanawha Valley about 1818 and settled on the South side of the Kanawha River.
Frances Keeney filed a pension claim for William's service in the War of 1812.
