Frances Horst

Mrs. Fanny Horst, relict of the late Peter Horst, fell asleep Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, at her daughter's home, in Annville, aged almost 71 years. The cause of death was dropsy and heart trouble. She had been in failing health for more than a year, but was able to be about until Thursday when she rapidly grew worse, but her end came calmly and peacefully.

She was an excellent Christian mother, led an exemplary life and was beloved by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the U. B. Church and only the day before she took to her bed expressed a desire to have the Lord's Supper administered and her feet washed. At the conclusion of these ordinances she said, like the Apostle Paul of old, that she was ready now to depart and be with Christ. She longed for her heavenly home and the friends over there, and she gladly bid farewell to the scenes of earth.

Many years ago Peter Horst was engaged in business in Lebanon and a number of persons still remember the family. The surviving children are Aaron L. Horst and Mrs. Annie Wagner, Bellegrove; Mrs. Frances Long, East Lehman Street; Mrs. Alice Light and Mrs. Agnes Rudy, Annville. Also these brothers and sisters: John and Cyrus Light, this city; Mrs. Maria Bowman, Bismarck, and Mrs. Sarah Mark, Millersburg.
