MRS. FRANCIS A. HOWSE DIES AT OCALA HOME
One of Ocala's Pioneers and Beloved Citizens Succumbed Last Night (Special to The Tribune)
OCALA, March 31. – Mrs. Frances A. Howse, aged eighty-four years one of the best loved matrons in Ocala, died here tonight at 10:30 o'clock. Death was attributed to her advanced age.
For more than thirty-four years the deceased was a resident of Ocala and during the time she made every citizen of this city a friend. The city is grief stricken over her death.
The deceased is survived by two daughters, and one son who are residents of Ocala. They are, Mrs. F. C. Knooe [Koonse], Mrs. Mamie Howse Stovall and O.B. Howse. Also, she is survived by a grandson, W. O. Stovall, of Tampa, and a granddaughter, Mrs. J. H. Mason, also of Tampa.
The funeral services will be held from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Ocala cemetery, under the direction of the undertaking firm of Sam R. Pyles & Co.
The honorary pall bearers are: Frank Harris, sr., R.A. Buford, Judge W. S. Bullock, Judge M. M. McConachy, Charles Tydings, Sam R. Pyles and Dr. E. G.Teak [Peek?]. The active pall bearers are: T. D. Lancaster, L. W. Duvall, W. McGallagher, Ed. H. Waterman, E. L. Carney and D. N. Ferguson.
The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. C. M. White of the Methodist church and Rev. W. J. neighbor of the Episcopal church.
