He was buried in a unmarked grave in the Hunter Family Cemetery on a mountain top up above the licking River, in Rowan County Ky. Now He is buried in a unmarked grave in the Hunter section of The Alfrey Cemetery which is located west of Morehead Rowan County Ky. - Because the river was flooded up to the Hunter Cemetery, by the Cave Run Dam. Construction began in June 1965 . The Army Corps of Engineers had to move the Hunter Cemetery and others along the river .
