Frances H I Toews

Our sister, Frances Toews, was born to Harvey A. Toews and Ella Toews on November 27, 1946, at Swalwell, Alberta. She, together with her parents, was involved in a tragic automobile accident on June 24, 1992, while traveling and visiting friends and relatives in northern Alberta. Very early the next day, June 25, she slipped away to be with her Lord. She reached the age of forty-five years.

Frances grew to womanhood in the Linden, Alberta, area. she responded to the Lord's call, gave her heart to Him, and on May 7, 1961, was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, by Minister Frank Hiebert.

Frances faced many difficulties in life. She was always a punctual, dependable person. Her Bible was very precious and important to her. In spite of her handicap, she was always ready to testify and often expressed that she wanted to be ready to go to Heaven and be with Jesus. We are thankful that God saw fit to answer that longing of her heart. During the last few weeks of her life, more than once, she requested the song "I want us to be Together in Heaven" to be sung.

Those left to cherish memories of her are three brothers and three sisters: : Julia of Linden; Raymond, wife Sandra, of Delisle, Saskatchewan; Marvin of Linden; Philip, wife Waunita of Gentry, Arkansas; Marlene of Linden; and Sue of Calgary; another "sister" Terri Miller of Linden; and a brother-in-law, Stan Penner of Ste. Anne, Manitoba. She will also be missed by four nephews, three nieces, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Harvey, Ella and Frances was held on June 29, 1992 at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Linden, Alberta. Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.
