About Frances Elizabeth Warner
Frances E. Earhart was the last of ten children born to Joseph Earhart and Mary Jane Boyd. She attended college and by 1900 at the age of 23 was living in Ann Arbor, Michigan, probably drawn there by her older brother Harry Boyd Earhart, who was to go on to make his fortune selling custom lubricants to the automotive industry. After graduating, Frances moved to Duluth where a few of her sisters lived (including Josephine). She became the head librarian of the Duluth Public Library in about 1904 and remained there until she resigned in 1922 to move to Minneapolis. In about 1925, she married the recently divorced real estate Intervener and local politician Amos L. Warner, who had also established his career in Duluth before moving to Minneapolis. Although she was 20 years younger than Amos, she succumbed to cancer only 8 months after his death in April, 1945.
