His death resulted from cancer o the stomach. The deceased was 84 years of age. He had been a resident of this county since 1859. The deceased was born at Lennox, Massachusetts, February 18, 1833. He was of French ancestry, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Brossard. He lived in Lennox for a period of eighteen years, and then came with his parents to Fall River, Wis., where the family lived for eight years. They moved to Iosco, this county, in the summer of 1859, settling on a homestead in Iosco. The subject of this sketch made his home there until his marriage to Miss Jane Davis, when they went on a homestead where the Iverson farm is located three miles north of town. Two children were born to this union, one of whom was Mrs. D. Ketchem of Eden Valley, now deceased, and the other was William Brossard of St. Paul. On May 3, 1863, Mr. Brossard was married to Miss Mary E. Rice of this county. They were the parents of one son, F. E. Brossard of Woodville. His second wife died March 18, 1901. Since her death Mr. Brossard has made his home with his son, F. E. Brossard, with the exception of a few years spent at Waterville, Elysian and Rice Lake, Wis. Besides his two sons he leaves the following brothers and sisters to mourn his loss: Augustus Brossard of Stearns county, Edward Brossard of Sedro Wooley, Wash., Joseph Brossard of Colorado, Mrs. D.
